I read in one of your blog interviews that you think Christians don’t have to ask for forgiveness on a continual basis. You said the Bible talks about our forgiveness in past tense. Can you give some examples?
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross.
Colossians 2:13-14
I write to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of His name.
1 John 2:12
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32
Then He adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin.
Hebrews 10:17-18
