In one of your Naked Gospel videos, I heard you say that it was forbidden for Old Testament priests to sit down on the job. You said that when Jesus had made us perfectly cleansed, he did the “unthinkable” – he sat down. Where can I read about this in the Bible?
Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
But when this Priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God.
Since that time He waits for His enemies to be made His footstool, because by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are “the holy ones.”
Hebrews 10:11-14
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
